DEFINITIONS:

Digital photographers are encouraged to enter; however, the images presented should be evaluated based on the amount of POST-CAPTURE PROCESSING applied to that image (the amount of “adjusting” or “enhancing” done to the image after it has been captured by the camera).  Images created via scanning a negative or slide transparency or with a digital camera can simply be entered into the appropriate category (1-6), even if slight adjustments were made for color or exposure, i.e., adjustments typically done in a traditional wet dark room; i.e., color correction (not changing the original color/s or removing color/s), saturation, and/or contrast control.  Cropping and horizontal flipping (equivalent to reversing a negative or slide) are acceptable modifications.

On the other hand, if physical changes were made to the image in any way with any software (e.g. ANY moving, deleting, adding or changing colors, etc.) then the final image shall be considered manipulated and must be entered in the Manipulated/Enhanced category.  An image produced by an addition of elements, removal of elements (other than by cropping), combining elements from separate images, rearranging elements or cloning elements is also to be entered in the Manipulated/Enhanced category.  By entering a digital photo in a category, other than Manipulated/Enhanced, the photographer certifies that he/she has adhered to this definition and its parameters.

MOUNTING REQUIREMENTS:

1.     Any size photo may be entered.  Each must be framed and ready to hang in the LAA gallery.

2.     The LAA uses a Walker Hanging System, which REQUIRES THAT A WIRE BE FIRMLY AFFIXED TO THE REAR OF THE FRAME 1/3 THE DISTANCE FROM THE TOP OF THE FRAME.  AN ENTRY FRAME HAVING ONLY A SERRATED (ALLIGATOR OR TOOTHED) TYPE HANGER WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.  NO EXCEPTIONS!

3.     The photographer’s signature or any other markings on the front of the photograph or mat is acceptable; however, means may be taken to cover such prior to and during the judging phase of the competition.

DELIVERY AND RETURN OF ENTRIES:

The LAA assumes no responsibility for loss or damage of any kind.  Entries must be removed from the gallery immediately following the Show Closing Reception, Sunday, February 26, 2006 at 6:00 P. M.
